Ponting hits century in India.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia started in Bangalore, Chinnaswamy Stadium today.The word’s number 1 team with inexperience squad was fully prepared to play against India.

The Toss favoured the aussies and the Australian Captain Ricky Ponting elected to bat first, which was really a good decision on pitch like that in Bangalore.The Indian players were charged up and the first ball of the series was bowled by Indian Pacer Zaheer Khan.On the third ball of the innings  Zaheer struck with a tremendous delivery which made Mathew Hayden to walk pavilion.Though his dismissal was controversial one, Australia were one down for zero.Then it was Ricky Ponting and Simon Katich gave a nice base for the innings.Ponting with 13.58 avg in India was under pressure to perform here in India.The Australian Captain took the responsiblity on his shoulders and gave a brilliant knock.He made his first century in India.Ponting celebrated the century knock by punching the air with the bat.It was Ponting’s best knock in India.Ponting really played some brilliant strokes and there wasn’t any room for error.It was Ponting who stole the show for the first day.

Simon Katich gave a well supported innings and lost his wicket when he was 66.Then it was the partnership between Mr.Cricket and Ponting.But Ponting lost his wicket to Harbhajan at 78th over of  the innings.Ponting scored 123.Michael Clarke, from the beginning struggled to stand with his foot on the crease.His foot works were not that much great.When it was one over to finish off the day’s play Michael Clarke fell to Khan and finished the day’s play.At the end of the play Australia was 254 for 4.Michael Hussey was in the crease and might open for the fresh day.

Ultimately it was Ponting’s show!!
