Bangladesh wins against New zealand

The Bangladesh cricket Team are no more minnows.They are slowly making a mark that they are good cricketing nation and in due course they may emerge like Srilanka.It is a new look for Bangladesh team after 13 players were banned for 10 years playing cricket since they signed a contract with ICL.

The first one day international between Bangladesh and New Zealand held at Mirpur,Bangladesh today.It was an historic win for Bangladesh and the first ever against New zealand.The visting side was reduced to 79 for 6.The Bangladesh pacers did a very good job dismissing the top order batsmen.Somehow Jacob Oram managed to score an half century to and made New Zealand to have decent total on board.Masrafe Mortaza shooked the top order and took four wickets.

Then the second innings played by Bangladesh was in complete different style and they made their win, an easy one with 27 balls to spare.The Captain Ashraful and Junaid Siddhique played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s victory.

 

Ashraful, who was appointed Bangladesh captain last year, said success was a result of his team’s togetherness.

“I am happy that we played as a unit,” he said.

“I am elated that it’s the first win against New Zealand and first against a major country under my captaincy.”

 

Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori said Bangladesh deserved the victory.

“We knew they are a good side with some quality individuals,” he said.

“The conditions were favourable for bowling in the morning but there are no excuses.”

The Bangladesh Cricket team is no more minnow.It has be noted that they have beaten India,Australia,Pakistan and now New Zealand.They are developing cricketing nation and they can evolve in cricket as Srilanka and South Africa did.
